I founded D'OR for one simple reason: to make high-quality reeds available to everyone.
Since then, I have been trying to add products that the oboe community desperately needs but are either unavailable or too expensive.
My favorite part about D'OR is that, through teaching, I get to share the knowledge I have aquired over the years with oboists all around the world!
Daniel Gurevich (Mr. Dan) is the Instructor of Oboe at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Praised for his elegant musicality and outgoing spirit, Daniel has become a sought-after oboist across the United States, performing on both the East and West Coasts.
He served as Principal Oboe of the Rogue Valley Symphony in Oregon and regularly performs supporting and principal roles with the San Francisco Symphony, the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, and the New Jersey Symphony, among many others.
Daniel earned his bachelor’s degree from The Juilliard School and his master’s degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He has studied with Elaine Douvas, principal oboe of the Metropolitan Opera, and Eugene Izotov, principal oboe of the San Francisco Symphony. Daniel was also a student of Dan Stolper at the Interlochen Arts Academy.
When he isn’t busy making reeds, Daniel enjoys hiking, listening to vinyl records, and tasting cheeses!
